Top Inner Lid: King Card, nailed to the inside of the lid, for the witches’ prophecy + the rave
Resin Crystal: Clear resin with cloudy/bubble effect; silhouette of trees and Macbeth quote “Hover through the fog and filthy air”
Bottles:
- Before the rave: bald witch solo dance, Banquo. Labradorite for transformation; goldenrod for sorcery, bewitching; anise for having someone under your thrall (Banquo); acorns for youth, beauty, personal power; jasmine for sensuality; hibiscus for passion. Includes the definition of “witchery.” Sealed with black wax and gold ballroom symbol.
- After the rave: pink salt for softness, tenderness, connection with audience in the apothecary; chamomile for the calm of post-rave in contrast with the violence of the rave; thistle and baby’s breath for the apothecary. Sealed with black wax and thistle symbol.
- The first Prophecy: vervain for hidden knowledge; mugwort for prophecy, liminal spaces; moss for otherworldly spirits; tiny bones for divination. Sealed with black wax and gold rosemary seal
- Dressing room: vial with tiny gold hairpin for the dressing room scene, witnessing camaraderie between witches, and bald witch’s disguise; red cord knotted 7 times for fate, endless loops, and a reference to a relic of the Paisley witches collected by the Reverend. Sealed with black wax and tiny gold gem.
- Planting seeds: tiny screw-cap vial topped with a gold lion for ferocity, contains 3 skullcap seeds for meaningful connection, 3 fennel seeds for magical wards + unsettled ghosts, and 3 marigold seeds for the cycle of life and death..
